Our new generation Roller Felting Machine combines ease of use, flexibility and safety into one transportable unit. The design of The Roller Felting Machine provides felters with the greatest flexibility in the finished product under controlled, repeatable conditions, providing the user with confidence in the ability to produce a consistent product.

Just how easy is the Snowy Creek Roller Felting Machine to use?

Lay out your fibre on a sheet of packaging bubble wrap, or similar caring medium, then, wet the fibre with warm soapy water, roll up your work,  around the flexible core in the caring medium of your choice, EG, Bubble Wrap in all its configurations, Fly Wire, Shade cloth, Grip Matt. Place the rolled up work between the rollers in the machine and close the guard. Closing the guard automatically lowers the top roller, applying an even constant pressure to your work as it rotates between the three driven rollers.

At the centre of the Snowy Creek Roller Felting Machine is it’s unique flexible core. This light weight mesh cylinder supports the bubble wrap containing your work as it is rotated between the three motorised rollers. The shape of our flexible core changes as it rotates, rolling your work in a manner very similar to hand rolling.

The Snowy Creek Roller Felting Machine is very easy to load with one central control handle mounted at an ergonomic working height. Table mounting of the unit lets you set the controls to suit your own needs and makes it easy to have a look at your work and turn it around as required.

With the Snowy Creek Roller Felting Machine the process is easily reproduced. You control the pressure, speed and processing time.

With the Snowy Creek Roller Felting Machine you have the ability to control and adjust the pressure applied to your work to suit your preferences, adding flexibility to effects on the final product. As your work felts it shrinks, so the top roller moves to maintain the desired pressure. You can add water inside the top roller to increase the pressure applied to your work. 1 Lt = 1 Kg

The Snowy Creek Roller Felting Machine has automatic height setting, adjusting for different cores and length or thickness of work, producing different sized rolls. The design provides a constant pressure during operation based on your needs and the desired finished product.

 

 

 

The Speed Controller and On-Off switch, with indicator light, give you control over the roller felting process. You can start slowly and speed up the roller felting machine as your work begins to felt.The timer counts down and stops the roller felting machine at your pre-set desired duration. Opening the guard to inspect your work stops the machine and holds the timer, so there is no need to rush – stop and look as often as you like.

Safety has been paramount in the design of the Snowy Creek Roller Felting Machine with multiple features to ensure your safety during use.

The Snowy Creek Roller Felting Machine has a barrier guard to protect the operator from accidental entrapment in the motorised moving parts, a guard-switch that stops the motor when the guard is opened. Also, the motor is protected with an Overload switch.

The Snowy Creek Roller Felting Machine has adjustable legs to level the machine so that the drip tray drains correctly and to ensure even pressure from any water added to the top roller.

The Snowy Creek Roller Felting Machine is easily and safely transported by two people with solid carry handles providing secure portability. Its compact size allows for the unit to be transported in a station wagon.

Controls

The easily accessible Speed Control unit regulates the speed of a powerful electric motor, giving you full control over your product to select the correct speed for each part of the felting process.

The On-Off switch has an indicator light for added safety. The timer counts down to your pre-set desired duration each time the roller felting machine is started. When the guard is opened the machine stops and the timer goes into ”Hold” mode until the guard is closed at which point the timer continues. The timer can be reset by pressing the “Stop” button.

 

 

 

Flexible Core

Safety Guard

Opening the roller felting machine lifts the top roller from your work, when the guard is fully open a safety latch automatically engages preventing the guard from closing accidentally.

To close the machine depress the latch before you pull the guard handle forward a small amount, then you can use both hands (if required), to lower the guard.

 

Pressure Control (Adding Weight)

Processing Pressure Control is achieved by pouring water (up to a maximum of 6 Litres) into the top roller to increase the pressure applied to your work. A funnel with threaded fitting is supplied for adding and removing water. Normally no water is needed, however there are some situations where your product may need more pressure during the felting process and this feature is extremely useful.

 

 

 

Tracking Control

The Tracking Control is factory preset for precise positioning of your work between the rollers.This control is not normally used by the operator.
